About

MyLandlady is a family-owned rental business built on decades of experience, personal relationships, and genuine care for the people who call our properties home.

The story began nearly 50 years ago when David Shamy started investing in real estate. In addition to building and managing his own portfolio, David taught real estate investing across the country, sharing practical knowledge rooted in experience, not theory. He later earned his broker’s license, laying the foundation for a business grounded in professionalism and integrity.

While David handled the paperwork, legal, and investing side, Sharon Shamy became the heart of the business. Known to many simply as “My Landlady,” Sharon was deeply involved in building, maintaining, and managing the rentals, bringing a level of care and personal attention that has become increasingly rare in today’s corporate rental landscape.

Over the years, the entire family has been involved — fixing up properties, maintaining them, and ensuring each home is a place where someone would truly want to live, grow, and raise a family.

What sets MyLandlady apart is a commitment to doing things differently. In an industry that has become increasingly impersonal, MyLandlady believes that trust, respect, and long-term relationships still matter. Homes are cared for as if the family were living in them themselves, and renters are treated as people — not numbers.

The goal has always been simple: provide clean, well-maintained homes, communicate openly and honestly, and create positive long-term rental experiences for everyone involved.

If you’re looking for a rental managed with experience, integrity, and a personal touch, you’re in the right place.
